The Chinese handset maker Xiaomi has been working on its latest range of smartphones alongside collaboration with Meitu. The latest range of smartphones is named the Mi CC9, Mi CC9e and the Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition. The Xiaomi Mi CC9 has been in the rumour mills for some time now. Additionally, the latest leak is the Xiaomi Mi CC9e which was spotted on Geekbench ahead of the reveal. The screenshot shows that the Mi CC9e operates on the latest Android 9 Pie, gets 6GB of RAM, and gets an eight-core 1.8GHz chipset.
The company has announced that it will unveil the Mi CC9, Mi CC9e, and Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition which will come with specs like the 48-megapixel sensor at the back and 32-megapixel selfie camera.
The new series of smartphones will focus on the newer age buyer and as such will feature colourful gradient back panels. The Xiaomi CC series launch event will be held on July 2 and will begin at 4.30pm IST.
Here are top features expected to arrive in the Xiaomi CC9 series:
In a new listing spotted on the Chinese TENAA website shows a Xiaomi smartphone which carries the model number M1904F3BT. The smartphone is most likely the upcoming Mi CC9. The listing confirms that the smartphone will arrive powered by an octa-core processor which has been clocked at 2.2GHz and will come in three memory variants – 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB. The chipset hints at the fact that it could be either a Snapdragon 710 or a Snapdragon 730 octa-core model considering they are the only ones in the Qualcomm range which can match that clock speed.
The Mi CC9 will be sporting a 6.39-inch FHD+ OLED display with a fingerprint scanner which has been embedded under the display. The smartphone will operate on the latest Android 9.0 Pie and pack a beefy 3,940mAh battery. The smartphone will feature a triple camera setup at the rear panel which was confirmed earlier by the company in a set of images revealed to the public.
There is also another Xiaomi smartphone which has been spotted with the model number M1906F9SC on the TENAA website. This smartphone has been tipped to be the Mi CC9e and will carry a 6.08-inch display and will pack a similar 3,940mAh battery. The listing for this phone does not include the full specs yet, but it will be extended in the following days.
As for the design of the phone, tipster Sudhandhu Ambhore has shared official renders of the phone that were shared by Xiaomi recently. He has also claimed that the same design will also be used by the Mi A3. As per the renders, the phone will be available in two gradient panel finishes, one in White and one in Dark Blue.
The device has an all-display appearance on the front with a rumoured in-screen fingerprint scanner. At the back, there’s a triple rear camera setup aligned vertically and there’s no fingerprint sensor at the back.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 has also been revealed to come with a feature called Mimoji which is similar to Apple’s Animoji, Samsung’s AR Emoji, Huawei’s Qmoji, and Oppo’s 3D Omoji. Xiaomi has also revealed that Mimoji comes with 165 different hairstyles, faces and accessories to choose from, and it supports both still pictures as well as video recording.
Apart from this, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun has also confirmed that the Mi CC9 and the CC9e will see a new addition of a third smartphone to the list. The Mi CC9 Meitu Custom Edition will be the third device and the special edition phone will be offered in 8GB/256GB configuration and will also arrive in a special blue-colour shade.
