Now that nearly all the major smartphones launches are more or less done with for this year, all eyes are now towards the upcoming iPhone models. Apple has naturally, not revealed anything about the upcoming devices (unlike Google) but there has been a cloud of leaks, speculations and rumours revolving around them. Here’s everything we know about the 2019 iPhones.
Based on rumours and predictions from analysts, Apple is said to once again launch three new iPhones this year. While the two iPhones will be successors of iPhone XS and XS Max, the third one will be the second-gen iPhone XR. They are being tipped as iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max and iPhone XR 2
Will new iPhones be pricier than before?
Naturally, the new iPhones models will be more costly than before because of several factors including spec bump in the form of a more powerful battery, processor, screen tech and an extra camera at the back. New accessories that may come out of the box with the upcoming iPhones may also add to the price. While the rumoured iPhone 11 will be the most costly, the next-gen iPhone XR will be the cheapest in the trio. For now, the starting prices of iPhone XS, XS Max and XR are Rs 99,000, Rs 1,09,900 and Rs 76,900.
Design: Largely to stay the same, might get new colours
Design-wise all the three iPhones may retain the same design as the current models, based on different leaks across by the web. The front and sides should stay the same while the back side may differ because of the extra cameras in all of them.
Colours: Old ones to go, new ones to come in
While there are fewer details on the new colours that Apple may introduce for the iPhones 11 and 11 Max at the time of the launch, the iPhone XR 2 is expected to come in two new colours – Green and Lavender according to a report by Macotara. These will be replacing the Coral and Blue colours. The more premium ones may get a ‘Rose Gold’ colour variant.
Display: The ‘notch’ may stay
Apple might not be moving away from the ‘notch’ design at the front for the rumoured iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Max and the iPhone XR 2. The screen sizes are also said to be the same at 6.5-inch OLED(iPhone 11 Max), 5.8-inch OLED (iPhone 11) and 6.1-inch LCD (iPhone XR 2) according to a report by MacRumors. The screen resolution and tech might change though.
